Zeikhour long rug from Kuba district,eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Size: 10′.0"x3′.3" (305×99 cm)

The moss green ground displays an alternation of roses and carnations in pink,red and yellow,Secondarily,there are small ivory rosettes and narrow black connecting vine segments.The main outer border shows the classic ivory and blue Zeikhour wave border while the inner stripe presents a red and pink rosette and tendril section pattern.The medium blue selvedges continue into the soumak bands at each end followed by a dense knotted warp nets.The weave is fine and compact.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good pile and condition including the original ends and sides except for a small tear at the top end.SOLD
