Zeikhour long rug from Kuba district,eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Size: 7′.10″x3′.10″ (239×117 cm)

The navy field displays two giant red vases along with triple rosette flowers,a central star and three blue and red compound rosettes.There are diagonal hooked bars,stylized palmettes,a doubled triangles,dots,lazy S’s and bird like palmettes.The iconic ivory main border shows a wave pattern while the inner red narrow stripe features a variety of geometric motifs.The wide blue selvedges are intact;at each end is a narrow blue soumak band followed by a knotted warp net.The handle is soft and pliable.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good pile and condition
