Tapestry fragment from Brussels,Flemish.

Age: circa 1600

Size: 3′.3"x1′.5" (99×43 cm)

This charming tapestry fragment,probably from a border,shows two classically dressed ladies,one of whom on the right is possibly Ceres-Goddess of grain and harvest.They are seated in a columned loggia.In addition there are putti and a long legged stork at the left.Further there is a statue in a niche at the right of two nude male figures.The piece is made of silk and wool with all natural colors.The condition of this fragment is good except for minor repairs.SOLD
