This attractive flatwoven Soumak rug is quite unusual. The madder red field is decorated with four octagonal navy medallions, stars, rosettes and other interesting elements. The abrashed blue border of stepped polygons harmonizes with the center. The ivory narrow star and bar borders and the outer red and brown running dog border are quite appealing. The piece has clear and saturated colors. The brown is corroded and one end has some small missing areas but the rest of this attractive Soumak rug is present.
