Shirvan long rug from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Age: circa 1880

Measurements: 8′.9″X3′.9″ (267×114 cm)

The navy field employs two columns of ascending stylized flowers in ivory,camel,yellow,red and light blue.There are several animals scattered about.There are five borders:The most important is in ivory chalice and slant leaf design;there are two flanking multicolor rosette pattern minors;and an innermost camel S pattern guardline and an outermost two tone reciprocal.The colors are from natural sources.The condition of the rug is very good including the original kilim ends and sides.
