Qashqai bag from south west Persia (Iran)

This exceptional south Persian bagface displays a kilim woven back in an eye dazzling pattern,in green,ivory,blue,yellow,red and dark brown.An ivory band shows hooked diamonds in soumak stitch on a voided ground.The closure tabs are intact and are flanked by lines of tiny rosettes in dark brown and ivory.The piled front panel displays the textbook Qashqai angular medallion on a navy ground,along with an ivory Qashqai angular geometric floral meander.There are two narrow barber pole lines and several solid lines present.The handle is extremely soft and pliable.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good condition.SOLD
