Qashqai bag from south west Persia (Iran)

Dimensions: 3′.5"x1′.11" (104X58 cm) including the flatwoven kilim

This is a particularly attractive example of the classic Qashqai-Fars tribal saddlebag design with a red and white hooked diamond centered by a white rosette and with four stylized small peacocks.In the four dark blue corners are Memling Guls and further peacocks.The ivory main border has the south west Persian geometric meander with zoomorphic details.The inner stripe has a stylized "S" pattern.Particularly attractive is a multicolor striped kilim back in madder red,green,light blue,burgundy and ivory.The original closure tabs and loops are intact on the checkerboard and herringbone ends.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition is very good.SOLD
