The rare madder red field employs the classic Perepedil ram’s horn pattern along with snowflakes and stylized dragons.Medium blue,spruce green,aubergine and ivory are among the important detail colors.The navy main border has a Kufesque design in ivory and is flanked by six minor borders.Two ivory inner borders have multicolor star motif,two employ diagonal stripes,the innermost has a ribbon pattern on a blue ground and the outermost border is a keyhole reciprocal in red and green.There are ten barber pole narrow lines in red and white and blue and brown.At each end is a flatwoven strip with macrame end finishes.This example is more spaciously drawn than the standard Perepedil renditions of this design.All the colors are from natural sources.The weave is fine and tight.The condition of this unique rug is good.SOLD
