Peking rug from north east China

Age: circa 1900

Measurements: 4′.10″x2′.6″ (147×76 cm)

The open creamy ivory field is decorated with a single blue vase with a dragon pattern and two emerging floral stems.There is a small stand on which the vase sets.The same color main border has a dark blue tendril design with stylized palmettes in navy and medium blue.The outer border is in dark blue and there are additional guard lines in navy and medium blue.There is a slight carved effect outlining the design elements.The wool is soft and the handle is pliable.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in very good condition.
