Age: circa 1870

Size: 4′.0"x3′.1" (122×94 cm)

Floating on the blue field is a red angular mihrab with palmette decoration,and enclosing a dark brown submihrab with palmette and short arabesque decor.In the spandrels above the mihrab are burnt orange geometric arabesques and small flowers.There are three important figured borders:an outer burnt orange stripe with a cream undulating vine;a middle band in royal blue with alternating stars and Xs;the innermost dark green frame shows double combs and diagonal bars.In addition there is a two tone barber pole narrow line and several plain cream lines present.At each end is a flatwoven strip leading to broad selvedges.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
