Luri bag from Fars province,south west Persia (Iran)

Size: 2′.3"x2′.1" (69×64 cm)

The field employs an allover hexagon pattern in ivory,light apricot,blue,navy,red and green,and each panel encloses a notched cruciform device.Along the sides of the field are nested hexagonal panels.The ivory border features connected or separated small diamonds.There is an additional barber pole line on each side.The attractive side cords are in pile colors.The multicolor closure tabs are intact,and edged by weft float bitonal lines,and several of the braided closure loops survived.The intact original back shows a bold vertical zig zag pattern in various colors.The piece has a soft and meaty handle.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good condition.SOLD
