Lori Pambak Kazak rug from Armenia,southwest Caucasus

The rich deep madder ground displays four flattened hexagonal medallions alternating in navy and ivory,and fringed with latch hooks.Each medallion is centered by a green four palmette cross with a winged motif.In addition there are stylized flowers in each medallion,and around are scattered small hooked elements.The blue border alternates flattened hexagons and rectangular four flower modules.Detail colors of both field and border include:camel,yellow,ivory,dark brown,shades of blue,green and red.The two minor borders display keyhole reciprocals in red and yellow and there are four dark brown dotted guard lines.At the top end is a narrow flatwoven band followed by a macrame strip and knotted warps.The wool is soft and the handle is pliable.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good condition.
