Lambalo Kazak rug from Armenia,southwest Caucasus

Age: circa 1885

Measurements: 8′.8"x5′.4" (264×163 cm)

The hexagonal tomato red field has a classic Lambalo pattern of ten polychrome octagons with internal honeycombs.Ivory,blue,green,yellow,light brown are among the additional detail tones.The field corners are in shades of medium and sapphire blue.There are five borders two of which have rosette designs,the widest in a diagonal leaf pattern,the ivory in a slander vine design and a green innermost with colorful dots.The other border colors are red,green and blue.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition of the rug is good.SOLD
