Kuba rug from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea.

Size: 5′.1"x3′.6" (155×107 cm)

A slightly compressed serrated yellow hexagon lattice displays a variety of stylized flowers,octagons and partitioned diamonds on a navy ground.Secondary tones include:bottle green,burgundy,blue,rose,red,pink,yellow,ivory and brown.There are four patterned borders:the outermost displays a connected "S" motif particularly stretched at each end;the main ivory border has a slant leaf and chalice design;of the two inner borders,one shows segments with multicolor diagonal stripes and the other presents an open hexagon chain.There are eight two tone narrow barber pole lines in the border system.All the colors are from natural and vegetable sources.The rug is in good pile and condition except for the blue selvedges and a couple of black lines missing at one end.SOLD
