Kuba long rug from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Age: circa 1870

Dimensions: 8′.7"x3′.6" (262×107 cm)

The medium blue field displays an ascending stylized flower pole medallion with attendant stars,small boxes,medallions and other interesting elements.The iconic ivory Caucasian crab main border is flanked by inner and outer multicolor striped minor guards.A yellow innermost stripe with connected diamonds separate the blue center from the rest of the rug.The outermost keyhole reciprocal border surrounds the whole.There are several narrow barberpole lines in between the main and minor borders.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
