Kuba rug from eastern Caucasus

Age: dated 1302=1884 Christian date

Measurements: 3′.9"x2′.10" (114×86 cm)

The unusual field pattern is composed of geometric palmettes,octofoils and quatrefoils on a navy field.There is a particularly attractive and widely used medium blue.The ivory main border employs red and navy diamonds connected by two stylized vine segments.The colorful secondary borders are diagonally striped in a variety of tones including an attractive aubergine.There are four red and white and red and navy barber pole narrow lines.The colors are good and so is the condition including the original ends.
