Konagkend rug from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Size: 5′.8″x4′.4″ (173×132 cm)

The characteristic off white angular arabesque Konagkend pattern completely fills the navy ground.There are small details in red,yellow,blue and ivory.There are seven patterned borders:a main ivory frame with branched octagons in yellow,navy,red,blue and light maroon;two minor borders with S patterns and four with ribbon design in various background colors.There are eight two tone barber pole lines in the border system and a serrated pattern edges the field.At each end is a narrow kilim strip and remains of a knotted net.The weave is fine and compact.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.SOLD
