This attractive Kazak rug displays a nested and hooked diamond medallion above a square,nested panel.There are rows of colorful hooks,animals,rosettes,boxes,quincunxes,combs,lazy S’s,hooked rectangles,all on a madder red field below a faceted dark blue arch and ivory spandrels.There is an illegible date and hooked elements inn the spandrels.The rare ivory main border shows a connected double stroll pattern in various colors.It is flanked by ribbon motif minor borders in red and blue,and there are four bitonal barber pole lines in the border system.The red selvedges are original and intact.The handle is moderately soft.All the colors are from natural sources.,The condition of this piece is good.
