The dark brown field is almost completely covered by red and navy cartouches, each with densely hooked ivory lozenges centered by hooked crosses.Light blue hooked herringbones decorate the four yellow dog bone like motifs. The hooks continue with side and corner fillers. In addition there are rosettes, octagons, quincunxes, dots, little boxes and other smaller elements. The green is particularly attractive. There is a touch of burnt orange which proves the quality of the rug.The ivory main border employs multicolor hooked motifs and is flanked by blue and dark brown triangle reciprocals and four red and yellow narrow barber pole lines. The weave is fine for a Kazak and the handle is soft and pliable. All the colors are from natural sources. This rare and attractive piece is in good condition.SOLD
