Kazak rug from Armenia,southwest Caucasus

Age: circa 1880

Measurements: 8′.0"x4′.2" (244×127 cm)

The madder red field is divided by horizontal bars and displays four hooked octagons in ivory,yellow,green shades and medium blue.There are tiny diamonds and other micro devices scattered about.The wide ivory main border has a classic Caucasian crab pattern featuring light blue and light green.There is a reciprocal blue and dark brown outer border and an inner border en suite with the horizontal dividers.There are three red and yellow narrow lines.The wool is thick and soft.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition is very good.SOLD
