Karabagh long rug from southern Caucasus,Armenia

Age: circa 1885

Measurements: 9′.4"x4′.1" (284×124 cm)

The blue/ivory figure/ground reversing field employs two columns of eight memling guls in red,ivory and green.The field is also decorated with small diamonds and other interesting elements.The classic ivory Karabagh crab border lies between yellow minor guards with color-segmented chains of lozenges.There are several narrow barber pole lines present.The colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
