Fachralo dated prayer Kazak rug from southwest Caucasus

Size: 5′.7"x4′.5" (170×135 cm)

The beautifully abrashed red ground shows a colorful bug palmette pattern surrounding a floating inner green niche and re-entrant shape subfield with a red and ivory central nested cartouche.There is a date panel under the pointed niche arch and hooked elements decorate the panel as well as accenting the central motif.The ivory main border has the characteristic simple slant leaf pattern in various colors and a similar dark blue strip with a zig-zag edges the green subfield.There are four bitonal barber pole lines in the border system.The wide red selvedges are well preserved like the rest of the rug.All the colors are from natural sources.The handle is meaty and chunky.The piece is in good condition.SOLD
