Fachralo Kazak rug from southwest Caucasus

Age: circa 1885

Dimensions: 4′.9"x3′.10" (145×117 cm)

The attractively abrashed medium blue field displays two plain red medallions:the larger is hexagonal and the smaller is square.A whitecomb fringe edges each medallion and there are six colorful stars floating on the ground.The main red border has colorful bug-like motifs and the outer important border has a simplified diagonal leaf design.In addition there are three zig-zag minor borders:two green and one yellow.There are six bitonal guard lines.The squarish size without a prayer arch is uncommon.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition of this attractive rug is very good.SOLD
