Ersari torba from western Turkmenistan

This long Ersari kejebe pattern torba displays a red ground with details in: ivory,rose,blue and navy.The kejebe design appears in many different Turkmen tribal weavings.The ivory main border is particularly wide at the sides and displays a square and X pattern while at the narrower ends is a reduced version.At the lower end is a narrow reciprocal ram’s horn pattern and at the top is a plain red strip.There are two quincunx design guard lines in the border system.The warp is goat hair.The handle is chunky and flexible.All the colors are from natural and vegetable sources.The piece is in good condition.SOLD
