Derbent rug from eastern Caucasus

Age: circa 1880

Measurements: 4′.2"x3′.4" (127×102 cm)

The rich red field displays a detailed pattern of stylized flowers,step crosses,small rosettes,herringbone motifs and other smaller devices.The main blue border is decorated with eight section stylized rosettes and is flanked by red and white diagonally striped minors.There are blue and red barber pole narrow lines in between the center,main and minor borders.The handle is pliable.The colors are good and so is the condition.SOLD
