Bordjalou Kazak rug from Armenia,southwest Caucasus

On a madder red field,there are three complete nested hooked lozenge medallions and en suite side and corner fillers.Among the important secondary colors are:ivory,peach,aubergine,yellow,dark brown and shades of green and blue.The filler triangles are decorated with tiny squares and diminutive lozenges,along with stylized flowers and other interesting elements.The ivory main border displays floating colorful stars and is flanked by reciprocal keyhole borders in red and green and red and blue.There are four bi-tonal barber pole lines in the border system.At one end the outer border is heavily abrashed in navy,rose and blue.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
