This extremely bold Bordjalou Kazak rug is a study in ivory, blue green, and red.The classic facing hooked triangle main border is extremely wide and each major element displays a pinwheel rosette in various colors. The two panel field seems to float within the border. The main field ornaments are hooked diamonds and there are humanoid figures, animals, stars, boxes, color samplers, crosses and other geometric devices. Each field panel has an inner reciprocal liner in blue green. The outer brown minor border is repeated as a divider and surround for the center, and all have multicolor rosette designs. There are four barber pole lines present. The square size is unusual and rare for this type of kazak. All the colors are from natural sources. The condition of the rug is good.
