Baluch prayer rug from north east Persia (Iran)

This elegant Turbat Haideri Baluch prayer rug has a natural camel field centered by a geometric tree of life with medallions and plantal forms ending with a nob finial.It is flanked by two slander poles displaying leaves and there are four jagged palmettes in the field.They are matched by the camel spandrels employing six similar motifs.There are many small triangle chains in the field and other interesting elements.A running dog pattern edges the center.The main conforming border presents a Turkmen design and there are two equally conforming ivory minor borders with diamond chains.At each end is a plain weave band with ivory weft float patterning.The wool is soft and the handle is pliable.All the colors are from natural and vegetable sources.The piece is in good condition.SOLD
