Baluch rug from north east Persia (Iran)

Size: 4′.1"x2′.9" (124×84 cm)

The navy blue field is almost completely covered by a diagonal lattice pattern of light red and purple hooked diamonds.In addition there is a vertical bar with a lozenge center in each element.The well abrashed light red main border has a pattern of alternating semi floral motifs with stylized hourglasses.There is a two tone quincunx inner border and an ivory speckled multicolor outermost stripe.At each end is a broad kilim woven panel with a zig zag design in brown,navy,light red and purple.In addition there are two weft float borders at each end and a final outermost ivory band with colorful X patterns.The wool is soft and velvety and the handle is pliable.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.SOLD
