Baluch rug (14)

8' 1" x 3' 9" (246 x 114 cm)

Baluch rug from Khorassan province, north east Persia (Iran)

Age: circa 1880

Dimensions: 8′.1"x3′.9" (246×114 cm)

The blue field is decorated in a version of the mina khani pattern with attractive white flower details. The border is in a hooked octagon pattern on a clear red ground. The wool is typically Baluch:soft, lustrous, silky. Not really a rug for the floor, but rather something for the wall or to be savoured by a collector. The size is unusual, longer than the average for Baluch pieces. The brown is corroded, but the condition is otherwise good.

THROUGH OUR EFFORTS TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY IMAGES, WE USE VERY HIGH RESOLUTION PHOTOS. IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE WHOLE RUG PLEASE TRY REFRESHING THE PAGE – SOME LONG RUGS MAY NOT FIT WITHOUT ZOOMING.
