Baluch balisht from north east Persia

Age: circa 1885

Size: 2′.10"x1′.5" (86×43 cm)

On the undyed natural camel hair field are eight half-drop rows of brick and purple octagons each centering an eight pointed star and two with light blue details.Along the sides of the field are brown double triangle motifs.The dark brown border has a connected hooked diamond pattern and is flanked by ivory sawtooth guards.At each end of the piece is a strip of weft float patterned flatweave in ribbon and triangle elements.All the colors are from natural and vegetable sources.The weave is fine and the wool is soft.The piece is in good pile and condition.SOLD
