Nomadic Aydin kilim (flatweave) from western Anatolia (Turkey)

Size: 4′.7″x2′.10″ (140×86 cm)

This unusually small western Anatolian kilim shows a nested and comb pattern in aubergine and ivory only along the sides.The red center reserve shows a repeating pattern of rhomboids and lozenges.The pseudo-border features badge like elements,and is more developed at the ends.In addition,there are lazy S’s,triangles,crosses,stars and rosettes.At each end is a broad blue panel with more lozenges,triangles and stars.Further there are two running dog/wave reciprocal bands at each end followed by a narrow striped section.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good condition.SOLD
