This south east Persian tribal scatter rug displays an offset lattice pattern of red,green,dark blue and ivory stepped lozenges.Each panel encloses rosettes,hexagons,leaves and other small elements.The main border shows a complex red and blue reciprocal,and a secondary ivory ground stripe displays rosettes and buds in various colors.There are two red ground tertiary stripes with meander design and two narrow barber pole lines in the border system.At each end is a narrow diagonally striped panel edged with a dotted barber pole line.The rug is particularly fine,well woven and it is wider then usual small Afshar rugs.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good condition.
