This classic north west Anatolian box design Bergama shows a 2-1-2 pattern with a central large dark blue panel and ivory and peach hooked secondary octagons.The madder field additionally resent rosettes and octagons along with hooked side brackets around the medallions.The navy main border hosts cartouches centered by stars-in-octagons separated by ram’s horns.The peach outermost border presents a hooked meander and the inner secondary displays floating rosettes and X’s.There are two quincunx pattern tertiary borders and three dotted lines.At each end is a broad flatwoven finish in navy and red.The original selvedges are intact.The wool is exceptionally lush and soft.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good condition.
