Kozak prayer rug from western Anatolia,Turkey

The apricot field of this small Kozak prayer rug displays a central pole medallion of four connected lozenges and intermediate double ram's horn devices.At each end of the subfield is a bold double hook element and two colorful rosettes.Flanking the subfield are red panels of ivory and green reciprocal elements.The outer ivory border alternates rosettes with simple split arabesques and the inner stripe is ornamented with ivory stars.There are two barber pole lines and an additional inner ribbon design strip.At each end is a madder and green kilim and in addition at the top end are three talismans indicating the prayer function of this rug.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition of this prayer rug is good.
