Khamseh rug from Fars Province,South West Persia (Iran)

Dimensions: 6'.4"x4'.7" (193x140 cm)

This Khamseh weaving is the little sister to no 26.A three tone navy,red and ivory vertically striped ("cane") pattern derived from 19th century Persian shawl fabrics is embraced by geometric red corners,and framed by attractive borders including an ivory main and two red minors.There is a short striped plain weave band at each end.The handle is meaty and the rug is in original condition.
