Kazak rug from Southwest Caucasus

Age: circa 1880

Size: 7'.7"x4'.2" (231x127 cm)

Four hooked lozenges in ivory and blue stand out on a beautiful red madder ground,flanked by small color sampler fillers.The ivory border employs broad hooked crosses a kin to those encountered on Talish long rugs.The blue outer minor border is in a rosette/ "S" pattern.The rug has a peaceful,calming look.It is in good state of preservation overall.
