This beautiful Baluch rug is tightly woven, well drawn and excellently colored. The botehs in the camel hair field reverse orientation in each row and there are scattered flowers, dots etc. to further enliven the pattern.A bit of silk highlights the device at the top of the mihrab, while the hands in the spandrel panels show the prayer direction. The well delineated main border contrasts with the ivory minor stripe.Instead of the usual flat woven ends, pile stripes of analogous pattern are employed. The general condition is excellent.
