Peking rugs,a pair from north east China

Age: circa 1890

Size: 4'.10"x2'.7" (147x79 cm) each

This rare pair of rugs was never joined together as are many Ninghsia long panelled runners. The blue cartouche fields are framed by plain beige surrounds and narrow matching borders.Small precious objects fit into the diagonally opposed corners. The austerity and restraint makes them appropriate for a refined person. The wool is soft and the condition is exemplary.

Through our efforts to provide the highest quality images, we use very high resolution photos. If you cannot see the whole rug please try refreshing the page - Some long rugs may not fit without zooming.
