Bidjar rug (15) (172)

Bidjar rug from Kurdistan Province, north west Persia (Iran)

Age: circa 1870

Dimensions: 4'.10"x3'.8" (147x112 cm)

The pattern of this small, attractive Bidjar is often found on bags rather than on rugs. The leafy pattern is well displayed on a camel ground, and is nicely framed by the red main border of quasinealistic vinery. The piece here has beautiful saturated colors. It is extremely dense and compact, but not harshly stiff. The condition is good and the rug is ready for use.

Through our efforts to provide the highest quality images, we use very high resolution photos. If you cannot see the whole rug please try refreshing the page - Some long rugs may not fit without zooming.
