Kazak bag,South West Caucasus,circa 1880.Measurements of the piece:1'.10"x1'.9" (56x53 cm).The attractive red field employs a design derived from the famous crab border of larger Caucasian rugs.It is surrounded by dark green border with multicolor rosettes and an outer reciprocal red and brown band.The colors are rich and all from natural sources.The pile is good and the sides are original.The ends are present except one line missing from each end.
