Kozak rug,Western Anatolia,circa 1880.Dimensions:4'.5"x3'.2" (135x97 cm).This attractive rug employs double mihrab on a rare peach color field.The center has two sets of small mihrabs on either side,dots,stars and other interesting devices.The red star and ivory rosette borders surround the main field along with minor guards.The colors are beautiful and all from vegetable sources.The handle is soft and the rug has good pile.The original striped kilim flatwoven ends are present with three small talismans in one end.The rug is in very good condition.
