Beshir rug (94)

Beshir rug from Central Asia,Amu Darya region.The rug is circa 1880,measures 7'.9"x4'.3" (236x129cm) and is in good condition.We see this design in many Beshir rugs which come in red,blue and ivory colors.The main border is quite attractive and there is a good color harmony between the field and the borders.The narrow yellow borders which are next to the main border are nice.The rug has a soft handle and wide brown side cords in original condition.The field has many interesting small details and elements in different colors and shapes.The top part of the rug has the yellow lines interrupted which is a sign of a tribal rug.After weaving for a while the weaver decided to make the main border wider and that's why we see that change of line in the yellow border.It is totally original and collectors like to see this kind of irregularities.
