Akstafa rug from Eastern Caucasus in good condition.The rug has an ivory field filled with botehs,soft handle,circa 1870,nice colors,rare design,measures 7'.2"x3'.2" (218x0.96cm) simple but powerful border.Akstafa weavers were very diverse and wove beautiful rugs in different shapes and sizes.This one has an unusual size and design for an Akstafa.The field has colorful botehs in many colors all well placed.The main border is rare and simple but powerful.The blue reciprocal minor border creates a good contrast along with very narrow barber pole borders.It is quite interesting that the last two rows of botehs are facing the same direction unlike the rest.
