Beautiful Beshir carpet from the Turkmen group in good condition.It is circa 1880,nice colors,good balance,measures 10'.3"x4'.11" (317x150cm) including the kilim ends and interesting details.The rug is from Central Asia, Amu Darya region.Beshir rugs come in different shapes and sizes.There are big ones like this,scatter rugs and even chuvals and torbas which are bags.The dominating colors of the rugs from this region are red,blue and white.This carpet has a charming diamond shape design on a red field.The light blue is a rare color.The center has an attractive mix of colors and elements and it is in good harmony with the main border.The narrow yellow minor borders are well placed and surround the main border.The original kilim ends have blue stripes and the side cords are woven with goat hair.
