Akstafa prayer rug from Eastern Caucasus.The size is 6'.3"x2'.7" (190x0.79cm) great colors including purple,circa 1870,crisp,fine and good design.The rug has a few lines missing all around.This rug has a diamond shape field because of the yellow line surrounding the elements in the field.It has a typical Akstafa border with a reciprocal minor border on each side.The ivory mihrab has an interesting drawing and like many prayer rugs there are a lot of details inside the arch.The piece has all the beautiful colors including purple,peach etc.It is finely woven and very appealing to a trained eye.The field has animals and other interesting details which collectors like.Akstafa rugs are very much collectible and in demand by rug lovers.
