Bidjow rug from Eastern Caucasus with brown field.The size is 6'.4"x4'.5" (193x135cm) nice colors,circa 1890,ivory crab border,attractive design and interesting color combination.Bidjows are quite popular among weavings from this region.They have their own character and designs.This particular one has a brown field nicely decorated with elements in red,blue,ivory,pink and yellow colors.The ivory main border is creating a nice contrast and has one of the most popular border designs of Caucasian rugs.One of the minor borders is callled reciprocal design which is the red and blue one and the outer one is a typical Kuba area border which usually comes in red and pink colors.The handle is soft and the rug is in good condition.
