Chi-Chi rugs are from Eastern Caucasus,West Coast of the Caspian Sea.This one is in good condition with nice colors.The size is 7'.5"x4'.1" (226x125cm) which is unusual,circa 1880 and it has a traditional Chi-Chi design.Usually Chi-Chi rugs come in smaller sizes.This particular one has a traditional field and border designs.The blue center is decorated with elements which are often seen in rugs from this group.The attractive main border has brown background color and the most popular Chi-Chi border design.The minor borders next to the main border are green and have a design which is associated with Chi-Chis.The light blue and red reciprocal border is surrounding the rug along with very narrow blue brown barber pole borders.The wool quality is remarkable and so are the dyes.The rug has a rare purple/aubergine color which is very appealing to collectors.
