Avunya rugs are from Western Anatolia.This one is prayer,circa 1880,measures 3'.9"x2'.10" (114x0.86cm) nice colors,attractive design,good condition and full pile.It is close to Bergama region which most collectors know.The rug has a thick pile and soft handle.All the colors are in the right places.The red field has attractive details and the green area which is around the mihrab has dotts like designs which is common with rugs from Western Anatolia.The main border is rare,attractive and creates a good contrast.The ivory minor borders lighten up the piece and the design within the minor borders is duplicated in the green field.The side cords are woven in different colors and they add a great value to the rug.The rug has its full kilim ends with one of them missing little bit which one can see from the image.
